Overview

The 57th Provincial Assembly of the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Province was held in Taipei, Taiwan. Scalabrinian missionaries and regional representatives from across Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, and Taiwan gathered to reflect on decades of pastoral labor and construct strategic milestones for future missions. The assembly focused on evaluating regional borderlands initiatives, supporting Stella Maris seafarers’ centers, coordinating vocations across the Asian formation houses, and reviewing professional standards and safeguarding compliances.

In alignment with the theme “Seeds of the Past, Hope for the Future,” delegates spent time reflecting on the spiritual charism of our founder, Saint John Baptist Scalabrini, linking historical missions to modern migrant challenges:

“God loves his Son and loves him in essence. It is impossible that he may find his delight in anyone else but in him because God’s love is infinite and it can only have an object of infinite value… But this beloved Son of his, became man. Therefore, he loves man in him. With one joy and one love he embraces all, body, flesh, and soul.”
